My research focuses on how environmental and social exposures interact to influence health with a particular focus on exposures caused by global climatic changes and society’s responses to those changes. My work to date has investigated the effects of air pollution from wildfires on population health, identified and mapped vulnerable populations to climate-related exposures, investigated the health benefits of urban vegetation, and estimated the health co-benefits of fuel source changes. I have a PhD and Masters of Public Health in Environmental Health Sciences from the University of California, Berkeley and a BS in Environmental Science from Brown University. Just prior to coming to CU, I did a post-doc at Harvard University through the Robert Wood Johnson Health and Society Scholars program.
