Integrating Genetics and the Social Sciences 2020

Keynote: The relationship between (genetic) demography, polygenic adaption and the evolution of complex traits: what have we learned from ancient DNA?

Iain Mathieson, University of Pennsylvania, Department of Genetics, Perelman School of Medicine

Professor Mathieson is a population geneticist with interests and expertise in a wide range of human genetics research. His expertise includes association studies, the distribution of rare variants, the genetics of spatially structured populations and understanding human history using ancient DNA. His current interest is in understanding the evolution of complex traits in humans, their distribution across human populations, and their relationship to demographic history and natural selection.
