Dr. Fernando Riosmena (Associate Professor of Geography, CU Boulder)

Presenting research on environmental dimensions of Mexico-US migration at mini-conference on race/ethnic identification and discrimination in Mexico. El Colegio México, Mexico City. Also participating in a project meeting with a colleague at the Center for Research and Higher Education in Social Anthropology (CIESAS), addressing race/ethnic identification measures in Censuses and Surveys.

Dr. Adrian J. Shin (Assistant Professor of Political Science, CU Boulder)

Presenting “Into the Woods: Migration and Bretton Woods Institutions”, which traces the importance of changing migration dynamics in the 1970s, particularly after the 1973 oil crisis, in order to understand how population movements from the Global South to the Global North became an important consideration in restructuring the global economic regime, including the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. 13th Annual Conference of the Political Economy of International Organization, Vancouver, BC.

Juhee Woo (PhD Candidate, Department of Sociology, CU Boulder)

Presenting “Smoking Initiation, Continuation, and Discontinuation among Socioeconomically Disadvantaged African American Women Smokers”, which is one chapter of her dissertation.
